Winter 2010

Opening Remarks from ET Water CEO Pat McIntyre:

It has been an exciting and productive fourth quarter for ET Water and our customers. Since our last newsletter in September, ET Water has been very active in delivering new products and services to market.  Earlier this month, in Phoenix, at the Irrigation Show 2010 we launched HermitCrab™ – a revolutionary product that converts conventional irrigation controllers to smart controllers in 10 minutes or less – to an enthusiastic conference community and industry trade press. We also launched our QUICKDRAW™ Mobile Control, which provides commercial landscapers and property managers the unique ability to remotely manage and control irrigation water use from their smartphones, iPads and other connected devices.

We are also proud to announce that ET Water’s entire line-up of smart irrigation management products are now “Made in the USA” as we have recently moved our production from China to San Jose, California. We have already seen improvements in new product development, manufacturing quality and speed, and our ability to better serve our customers while also providing sustainable jobs to American workers.

We are pleased to welcome a number of new sales organizations and reps, along with new distributors, into the ET Water sales and distribution organization. ET Water now has a nationwide presence with representation in 40 states as we continue our leadership and growth in product and service innovation and distribution.

In closing, all of us at ET Water wish you and your family a festive Holiday season!

Happy Holidays,

ET Water Launches HermitCrab Universal Smart Controller for Commercial Irrigation Market

On December 6th we launched the HermitCrab™, a universal smart controller that upgrades most brands of inefficient conventional irrigation controllers to eb-Based ETwater Smart Irrigation to improve water efficiency and control for the commercial irrigation market at the Irrigation Show 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The HermitCrab is a small, self-contained weatherproof unit that easily connects to a broad range of existing conventional irrigation controllers, immediately converting them into smart controllers that operate on ET Water's award-winning web service to efficiently and remotely manage landscape irrigation. With typical installation time of 10 minutes or less, and using the existing conventional controller as a "host," the HermitCrab connects wirelessly to the ET Water web servers to obtain customized daily watering schedules based on unique evapotranspiration (ET) computations and landscape requirements, and communicate the irrigation commands to and through the host controller. Additionally, HermitCrab, which will be available in Q1 is compatible with the ET Water QuickDraw™ service, allowing users to instantly turn irrigation systems and valves on and off from their computers or their smartphones.

“Water Warriors” - ET Water Systems and The Brickman Group team to Save Agilent Technologies 20% Water Use and Utility; Payback Achieved in the First Year, With up to 50% Future Savings Projected

The Brickman Group, Ltd. is one of the nation's leading commercial landscape management companies. In partnership with ET Water Systems together they have delivered substantial landscape water use savings to Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A), the world's premier measurement company and a technology leader in chemical analysis, life sciences, electronics and communications, with the deployment of smart irrigation controllers at the Agilent Colorado Springs campus.

Serving the landscape management needs of the Agilent campus for over a decade, Brickman began partnering with ET Water Systems three years ago, to serve the water conservation and budgeting needs of a growing list of clients including Hunter Douglas, Burlington Northern, Teletech and other leading companies in the U.S. Brickman has installed ETwater™ smart controllers at commercial sites across key irrigation states including Texas, Colorado, Oregon, and California, which have helped numerous clients reduce costs and conserve this valuable resource.

In May 2009, Brickman installed 12 ETwater™ smart controller systems at the Agilent Technologies campus in Colorado Springs. The site is comprised of nearly 20 acres of mixed landscape including more than 16 acres of turf and approximately 4 acres of trees and mixed shrub beds. In 2009, landscape water consumption declined 8 million gallons from 2008 and by more than 10 million gallons compared to 2007. The savings achieved reflect the recovery of the initial capital investment in less than one year. The daily monitoring and management of Agilent's system is conducted with the ETwater Manager Web-based irrigation control interface.
