Bringing Wearables to the Enterprise


The Mission
XOEye Technologies engaged Skyya Communications to relaunch the company under its new brand identity, showcase its wearable safety glasses prototype and disrupt the status quo in manufacturing and industrial processes. Skyya’s challenge was to separate the market noise around fitness wearables and Google Glass and focus on the nascent head-worn wearables enterprise market in preparation for two significant events - the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the prominent DEMO Enterprise Conference. Skyya also needed to significantly increase XOEye’s core press audience.



The Skyya Approach
According to ABI Research, the enterprise wearables market is expected to reach $18 billion by 2019 in the U.S. alone. With this in mind, Skyya began an integrated marketing strategy by overhauling XOEye’s corporate and product messaging to reach decision makers in the manufacturing sector by highlighting a few of the industry’s pain points: operational inefficiencies, worker safety, worker compliance, employee training and remote telepresence, while balancing the narrative around “Big Brother” and privacy issues.


At CES, Skyya unveiled the XOne eyewear along with the company’s enterprise software suite and cloud-hosted content management suite. CEO Aaron Salow was featured on a number of live broadcast shows from the show floor of CES and also hosted more than 20 briefings with technology reports during the conference. Immediately following CES, the Skyya team had to quickly ensure that all marketing, public relations and sales materials were in sync with XOEye’s post-CES pivot to an enterprise wearables solutions company that is reshaping industrial business processes, data capture and OEM of head-up display devices including Vuzix’ M100 Smartglasses, Pivothead and Recon Instruments. Prior to taking the stage at the DEMO Enterprise Conference on April 3rd in San Francisco, the Skyya team worked with XOEye to craft a concise yet interactive 4 minute script for their on stage presentation as well as media coaching for XOEye executives.
